SIL's Birthday

Friday was my future sister in law's birthday. We had dinner at our favorite Mexican restaurant, and then went out for a few drinks with the family.

Diana

This picture looks as if it was taken with a Diana Camera. Ohhhhhh how I wish I could have one. They are so cool, have you heard of them? It's a lot like the Holga. Though Wikipedia doesn't make it sound as awesome as it in fact is, trust me. You would love one too.

Here's to Kids

Don't you just love how they can run around in circles 1million times and no matter how much sweat is dripping down their face, or how red and puffy their eyes get from too much chlorine water in the pool....they just keep going?
It literally amazes me.

Plans Changed

Saturday was meant to be spent by the pool, but plans soon changed when the weather didn't play fairly. My sister and the nieces went up to a barbeque, so G and I met up with friends at a local dive bar for a couple of drinks after shopping for dirndl accessories all day.

Cupcakeland

Friday night my youngest niece took us on an adventure to Cupcakeland, to find the fairies that she heard when she arrived that evening.
It's amazing the influence adorable little kids have on grown-ass adults.

I won't hold my breath

So the owner of the condo I'm trying feverishly to rent out has taken 3 months to show it a mere 3 times. I've provided ample notice, continued to pay her, and brought her a couple of renters that wanted to take the place over. Her and the realtor have made it impossible to get this off of my hands by being completely unavailable and unattentive to the situation. She says she's going to have the realtor hold an open house, and put an ad in the paper. My question is, why does it take people so long to do what's right? I won't be holding my breath on this one.

Harry Potter and Purple Eye Shadow

My nieces came over last night, and boyfriend took us to hibachi and to see the new Harry Potter movie. It was a great night overall. I love watching him with them, he is so sweet with the girls and it makes my heart beat 1millionXinfinity thinking about having children with him one day.
The girls love playing in make up so I put some glittery purple eye shadow on them before we left the house and they sparkled all night. Too cute.

Beach Day

Saturday was a great beach day, so that's what we did. Good times.

Family in Town

It's been two weeks now with the girls and I couldn't be happier. Unfortunately that means limited blog posts, but I'll try to catch you up.

The week was pretty much a blur, lots of work and a quick trip that took me up to the northern part of the state for a political job fair.

On Friday, I had the day off and took the kids to a place that took their breath away with excitement, Wannado City.

They had the best time, and one of my nieces had the opportunity to star in Alice in Wannadoland. Watching her was also fun. SO cute.

It has been so wonderful having them around for the summer. I can't believe we're more than halfway through their stay already.

It's Fun to do Bad Things

So on Sunday, my sister, boyfriend and I decided to break into dad's collection of homemade alcohol.

This stuff is so delicious and effective, you only have to take a sip or two before the laughter ensues...

Saturday Sisters

On Saturday, my sister and I spent the day at mom's pool. We hung out pretty much all weekend in the sun. I'm not sure my sister can go back up north after all of this nice weather we've been having. Her tan is ridiculous right now!

p.s. That is a bathing suit cover up, not a vintage one-piece. I wish.

Burden

My cousins might be taking over my apartment. That will be a huge burden off my back and I'll be able to start saving even more for our trip to Europe.
I'm ready and waiting, they are dropping off the application on Monday. So we will see...

Day Off

Today I had the day off, and my sister and cousin and I spent the day vintage shopping in Delray Beach, laying by the pool on the beach, sipping goose and lemonade's and laughing our asses off.

After of course, I took a nose dive into the shower door handle this morning.

Ouch.

Bubbles

Drag Karaoke

It's one thing to go to see a Drag show, and it's another to go see a Drag show and get up on stage with the girls and sing.

Drag Karaoke was awesome, especially since most everyone made it out and it was a Tuesday night!

p.s. normally I would plug the venue, but the queens ripped us off royally, so that's not gonna happen ;)

Two of My Favorite People

My sister and my cousin, are two of my most favorite people in the whole wide world. My cousin is more like a sister than a cousin in fact, and my sister is just awesome - because she knows me thoroughly and we have a blast together.
I was just thinking about how when my sister's kids grow up, two girls, I hope that they have the bond that her and I have.

4th of July Weekend

It's fun hanging out with my sister. She always has so much energy. And of course, the best kids. Ever.

We had the best time lighting fireworks with the girls.

Play Time

On Friday morning, Boyfriend and I took a rode trip up to Orlando to see our nieces, sister, and cousins.

We got up there around 10AM, I braided the girl's hair, and then we headed straight to Wonderworks for some play time.

All Grown Up

This was at V's 25th Birthday a couple of years ago, around the same time as Oktoberfest actually. SC is now in Montreal, married happily and loving her new life as a Mrs. and J has moved up the coast to enjoy her life as a Mrs. and also as a mommy. Funny how life changes so drastically in our mid and late twenties. One minute, you're stepping out of your norm dancing at Mint and having the time of your life at The Standard, and the next minute...you're all grown up.
